Hello! At present I'm not sure how photography fits into my life-my camera has an issue and needs money to be repaired, so I'm trying to get a job-of course that's not the only reason why. This year my photography business has been almost non-existent, and I haven't taken many photos. But I will trust Gd and leave this desire of my heart in His control. Meanwhile, I hope whoever still reads this blog enjoys the photos :D
I altered these in Photoshop Elements 7 with incredible textures from Kim Klassen. MUST CHECK HER OUT. :)

After and Absence...

After an hour or two sifting through, downloading, unzipping, and locating textures from the AMAZING and generous Kim Klassen, I spent some time in Photoshop, texturizing some of my favorite photos. :) It feels good to be making a gradual comeback. Though a graduation project is consuming most of my free time (more on that after its completed in a few months), photography has been calling to me again through the winter cold and calm. SO I determined to devote some time to it today, indulging myself in some texturizing. Anyhow....here are some recent photos that I am simply so glad to present to you-deeply enhanced thanks to the lovely Kim Klassen.

Winter is most definitely my favorite season, though spring and fall closely compete with its wonders and beauty. Though it is a time where nature-one of my favorite subjects-and what it brings out in people is not so readily available as in finer weather, I do aspire to obtain some nonetheless beautiful and touching photos. Wish me luck!

A:Mini Session

I am so pleased with the results of this spontaneous mini session with my lil' cousin. She knows how to be herself and bring what she wants forward. :) And of course she looks adorable.
I came away from this mini session confident in my abilities. It had been awhile since I'd done a session,but it felt good to come back to it naturally and simply. :)
I know I've been so neglectful of this blog, but I can't promise anything more what with my computer still acting up and my time being very limited. But I am learning, or have learned, to take photos every chance I get and not give up just because I can't do it as much as I would like.
I'm actually in the process of considering whether I should take a year or so after I graduate to focus on my photography as I haven't been able to, or if I should head straight into college...I'm not sure yet but prayers, advice, and good thoughts are welcome!

Wow. I love when my subjects get it- get that the pictures are about them, should reflect their personality and should be completely individualized. This incredible woman got it. As you can see, she rocked this session. She chose a place that was special to her-that meant a lot and that she could be herself in.The place where she creates her world, her art, and where he passion becomes materialized. But go check her out for yourself. :)

One thing I learned from this session is to trust my instincts more-if I think something will look good or not look good, I should try it out before shoving it to the side.If I'm the photographer-the artist, the creator, then I have all I need inside of me to bring the spark, the love and light to my images-and when it comes to people I have all I need to bring it out in them and capture it in my photos. With G-D's help always!

What do I have to say for myself... {personal}

I haven't written or shared photos for so long-to be honest, I haven't taken that many photos that count this summer. But the main reason I haven't been around is because my computer won't allow me to access blogger, google, and other sites, and so I use my mom's computer, and she doesn't have my pictures anyway. But besides all that disappointing news, I have not been completely absent from the world of photography. Let me explain...

After a bit of study and researching here and there throughout my photography journey, experience has been, and will always be my most important teacher. Photography, true photography, isn't about reading some formula on how to get the perfect picture, but it's about taking pictures how you want to take them, to capture the message you see. That's photography.
But seeing as my photography isn't just a hobby, but something I want to take more seriously and give to others, I need to learn how to do that. That's something that experience can and does teach you, and everyone should have a personalized way of doing, but at the same time its great to learn from others in the business and marketing aspect. So I've been doing a lot of reading. :)
Vik Orenstein's book, Photographer's Market Guide to Building your own photography Business has helped me get motivated to be more professional and precise. You want to have, you need to have a structure to base your creativity, individualism, personality, and drive on. That's something I've been learning when it comes to photography.
Jasmine Star has inspired me during my hiatus to brand my business, personalize it to the tenth degree, and create yourself and your business into what you want it to be to attract the client's you want.
These are the lessons I am learning, and I cannot wait to get the chance to put them into action. But being a high school student-photography has to wait sometimes. And being the owner of a freaky computer, so does this blog :p

This past weekend I spent with my friend in Philadelphia. We happened to go to a Native American PowWow on Sunday. It was incredible. There were tribal dances, many many tents with many many beautiful and interesting things. These are two men walking away after a dance.

S :Train Station Shoot

I cannot seem to conjure up a more clever title for this picture post. But maybe the photos will speak for themselves.
A very few weekends ago I did a session with my cousin, who is an aspiring actor/ model. He needed some headshots and such, so mom had the brilliant idea to do it at the local train station!!!! Here is a picture of this lovely, rustic, place in the city. It is a magnificent location for masculine or even early 20th century themed shoots. The inside is very nice, but the lighting was incredible outside, and the stationary train provided a wonderful background.

Light, Camera, Actions

I sat outside today on the doorstep, and just let myself feel the sun on my face. I marveled at the incredibly fine weather, and just enjoyed it. The light, the light, the light. Of course, on such a remarkably fine day, I had my camera with me ad took a couple of shots that I will post later. For now, I want to show you a photo that I tried a texture on. Now, I want to talk about Photoshop actions. I've been hearing about these, but they always cost money!!! That's what I thought until I found some FREE ACTIONS at The Pioneer Woman. Yes, FREE!
CLICK HERE. She even has tutorials on how to use them!!! It is AWESOME. Thus, all the caps. :D Here are some proofs of my work with her actions, some which Doug from Totally Rad Actions made. I got the free sample of some of his actions- they are rad!

MPPP and Swinging Dogs

Some of you may expect for this post to be about some photography or photographer's conference or some other important thing, because of the MPPP subject title. Well, I am sorry to dissapoint you, but hopefully I will please some of you! ;) MPPI stands for My Private Polaroid Party. Yes, I had my own MPPP today, and here are the results. Simply Engaged: A & A

I had a fabulous engagement session recently at the fabulous Marriott Hotel here in Penn Square. This was my first time shooting at an indoor public facility, and I was so excited. It was beautiful there!
Not many couples are bold enough to take a stand for purity, among the pressures of people and society. Not many couples decide to save their kisses and caresses for marriage. Well, this is one of those rare, beautiful, and simply photogenic couples :) Want some proof?

I've been trying to come up with a signature that I really like, and I think this one is it. :) Please leave comments!

Feeling One

It is Spring. Truly. And this is good- except for one thing. No, its not the rain or bugs. Its something else. With this beautiful weather, comes and increased need for me to be one with nature- to take walks, walk barefoot in the cool grass, and just stand outside by myself, night or day, and feel the wind through my hair and sky above me. I am disabled in this area, because of where we live. But there is a bright side- there are parks! And yesterday we went to a very large and beautiful one.Don't believe me?

As you see, we walked barefoot in a large field, and these photos are proof that I wasn't by myself and that it is spring. :)

I went to Coe's Camera (only where I live) and printed the photos from the marriage I shot in February, for my client. This was my first time printing there, and I was nervous as to how the photos would turn out. They are marvelous!!! This is a low quality photo ;) But they really do look nice. :) I will blog about this soon, hopefully. With great weather, comes great business. :)

My Blog-site Baby!

*The title is referring to you, the reader, and to the fact that my site is, well, a baby.*

Hello, friends! I have not done an actual post on here for months. But hey, it's all about the photo's, right?
Anyway, I'm sure you've noticed the new look. I love it!!! And there's more to come! A header with pictures, for example. I really really want a rotating header, but I would have to pay for that (no tutorials online), so I will have what's called a random images header (header changes with each refresh) or just a plain ol' header, with a lil spice :) Be sure you check out my gallery, I made some changes, which I like.

I want to have a website at some point, but as I am still building up my portfolio (and saving money ;) I can't. But hopefully my blog-site will be perfectly suitable :) Anyway, be sure to also check out my link list of AMAZING resources all the way at the bottom of this blog-site.

This Monday coming up I have an engagement session that I am SO excited about! Can't wait!!!!

The sun was shining so brightly , and the eggs caught the light nicely. I was practicing setting some of the manual controls as well, and it came out nicely.

...because I'm going to be doing 2 shoots in the next 2 weeks, and I'm excited! The first one is of my grandma and cousin (next weekend) and the second one is an engagement shoot with this lovely couple!

So get yourselves ready to view some pretty pics, G-d willing, within the month!
It seems like I got my new camera at the right time, because spring photo fever is contagious, and spreading in my area!

D&V Got Married!

You may (or may not) remember D & V from my first engagement shoot that I did with them. 6 months later, they casually (in style, not attitude ;) tied the knot, before they head to Santo Domingo for their real wedding. Bridesmaids, grooms, and all. I didn't think I'd have the oppurtunity of shooting this sweet couples marriage ceremony, but I did, thank to my Grandmother (its a long story ;) . So here are some photos I decided to share with you, and the rest of the world. There should be engagement photos coming in some weeks ;)

They have a slight grainy/blurry effect, which I like (though it bothers me in the back of my head).
At any rate, my favorite is the ring scene. Enjoy!

My aunt bought me these shiny shoes with a flower on top. I have never had such cute shoes- nor shoes in silver or brown! I love them! The photos aren't that great, but you can see the shoes.
